At POP Solutions, we love a challenge, so the request from European purchasing platform Communisis for its client Bacardi was right up our street: design and deliver 2,000 displays throughout France in just 12 business days! Read on to learn how we pulled off this feat.
20 October, 2.45 p.m. Nicolas Jussy, Account Manager at POP Solutions, receives a call from the head of purchasing at Communisis. His client Bacardi is launching an end-of-year POS campaign and needs 2,000 multi-brand cardboard floor displays to be delivered throughout France by 12 November.
“At the time, I really wondered how we were going to manage it,” admits Nicolas. “But as soon as the call ended, the POP machine swung into action. At 8.45 a.m. the next day, the customer received our quote. 24 hours later, we got the green light and the race against time began.”
The customer reviewed POP’s design, the proof was approved, offset printing got under way in the Netherlands and the UV varnishing in Germany. By Friday 30 October, everything was ready to start production. Laminating at the weekend, display die cutting at the start of the week, all hands were on deck. “It was like a madhouse,” laughs Nicolas. “On Wednesday, everything was taken to the handler for assembly and packaging.”
On 9 November, the haulier’s first two trucks loaded the first pallets. Two more followed the next day and another on 11 November. POP was bang on schedule. “We usually deliver our products to logistics companies used to receiving trailers, whereas here we were delivering to merchandisers and we weren’t completely sure they would all be able to accept this type of delivery. That complicated things a little. At one address, we also had to deal with another problem: there was no space set aside to house the pallets. Fortunately, thanks to the quick thinking and professionalism of our haulier, who worked miracles, everything was delivered on 12 November as agreed, save for one final delivery on the 16th. POP Solutions and its partners were extremely responsive and flexible, which was our strength in overcoming this challenge.”
“We were very happy with the way the project was handled,” confirms the Communisis Purchasing Director. “In terms of deadlines, which were very tight, communication and the quality of the furniture provided. Bacardi had nothing but praise for the fast delivery and installation in stores and the superb rendering of the displays.”
Yet more proof that for POP Solutions, nothing is impossible.
