As a leading pharmaceutical firm in the Belgian market, EG faces an uphill struggle when it comes to point-of-sale (POS) advertising. With its large product range, many types of display are needed to ensure maximum visibility.
EG was therefore seeking an innovative way to optimize and streamline its POS advertising. And as experts in pharma POS and the group’s trusted partner for many years, who better to help meet this challenge than POP Solutions!
Aware of the environmental issues associated with POS materials, POP Solutions has been pursuing an eco-design approach since 2019. In 2023, It was awarded an EcoVadis gold medal for the second consecutive year for its CSR practices.
No surprise then that the POP team was fully up for the challenge of advising EG! Its designers, well-known for their creative and innovative approach, sat down with EG to discuss its specific requirements. The aim was ambitious: to find an effective way to promote the company’s many brands with a single, environmentally-friendly POS solution.
The collaboration proved very successful. POP came up with a sustainable and eco-friendly solution in the form of a modular wooden counter display with FSC cardboard topcards, enabling the communication to be adapted to different brands and promotions. By focusing on flexibility, customisation and eco-design, POP was able to perfectly meet its customer’s expectations.
This unique display, made from sustainable materials, is compact, lightweight and robust. Comprising three multiplex wooden boards, two of them fixed at right angles, it offers maximum strength for holding the promoted products. Its removable board allows the unit to be tailored to the quantity and height of the products and can be stowed away easily in a space provided at the back. A metal runner on the vertical part holds up to six interchangeable topcards for different promotional campaigns.
As a one-stop shop, POP Solutions took charge of the entire project. All stages of the display’s design and manufacture were carried out on site, following rigorous quality control procedures. The Printing Division customised the unit with four-colour printing of the logo, while the Cardboard Division, with its cutting-edge technologies, created the set of topcards.
In all, no fewer than ten versions (five in each of Belgium’s two main languages) were created for five of the group’s brands, which are promoted in an extensive network of pharmacies across Belgium.
With this modular display, all the pharmacist has to do is change the topcard to adapt the display to a specific group brand.
By opting for an eco-designed POS solution, EG is taking an environmentally responsible approach. This initiative enables it to showcase its values to partners and helps to boost its brand image by demonstrating its social commitment to customers.
