POP Solutions has been working alongside Fline since the launch of its FlineBox®, the world’s first interactive breathalyser station. This successful and enduring partnership has now spawned an innovative POS solution to help with risk prevention at festivals.
The adventure began in 2022 when POP worked with Fline to develop a robust and durable terminal for its groundbreaking FlineBox® software, which uses reliable alcohol sensor technology to measure blood alcohol content. The brief was clear: the terminal had to fit the dimensions of the touchscreen and weigh no more than 20 kg for ease of transport and set-up.
Drawing on its team’s versatile expertise and its multi-material POS solutions, POP managed to design a steel and aluminium terminal weighing… 9.4 kg! In 2023, this enabled Fline to successfully roll out over 250 breathalyser stations in Belgium and alert around 330,000 people to the dangers of drink-driving. But the adventure didn’t stop there! Building on this successful collaboration, Fline called on POP’s services once again to optimise the logistics of installing the terminals in line with the requirements of large events. This was an exciting challenge for POP, which is always ready to find innovative POS solutions for the most complex briefs.
Our company has grown rapidly over the past few years and we’ve been able to rely on POP to help us achieve our ambitions. This collaboration is much more than just a supplier-customer relationship; we’re proud to count POP as a fully-fledged growth partner.
Adelin Jacques de Dixmude, Co-founder Fline
Following joint discussions and based on a container sketch produced by Fline, the two companies devised an upgrade to the POS solution, tailored to the logistical and operational constraints of festivals.
POP then set about totally transforming three containers, fitting them with tubular structures to secure the terminals and electrical systems for power supply, interior lighting and air conditioning. The visible sides of the containers were covered with digitally printed Dibond panels for optimum readability. To protect the terminals from damage or theft, a removable sheet-metal plate and a canopy system were added.
The existing FlineBox® terminals were modified to hold up to 1,500 straws (instead of 200!), reducing the need for restocking, and metal bins were produced to collect waste.
For summer 2024, over 750 additional FlineBox units will roll off the production line for use in a number of European countries.
With its one-stop shop approach, POP offers Fline a comprehensive, all-inclusive service provided entirely in-house. From strategic thinking to transport and production, POP oversees the whole process, guaranteeing a consistent and high-quality POS solution.
Personalised support by a one-key partner not only ensures flexibility and responsiveness throughout the project but also fosters a relationship of trust conducive to a long-term partnership.
